Ferrous Scrap (Iron and Steel)

Heavy Melting Scrap (HMS): Common grades are HMS 1 & HMS 2, which typically include obsolete steel products such as beams, plates, pipes, and car bodies.

Shredded Steel Scrap: This is processed (shredded) steel scrap, often sourced from end-of-life vehicles, appliances, or structural steel.

Busheling / Foundry Grade Scrap: These are clean, unpainted industrial steel offcuts from manufacturing processes (e.g., stampings, clippings).

Cast Iron Scrap: From engines, machinery parts, or other cast products.

Non-Ferrous Scrap

Aluminum Scrap: Includes used beverage cans, extrusions, cast aluminum from engine blocks, and other factory offcuts.

Copper Scrap: Common categories include berry/candy (clean, unalloyed, uncoated copper wire) and birch/cliff (lower grade, mixed copper scrap).

Brass Scrap: Often from plumbing fixtures, radiators, or mixed turnings from brass machining.

Lead Scrap: Frequently sourced from spent batteries or old pipes, though it requires specialized recycling due to toxicity.

Zinc Scrap: From galvanized materials, die-cast parts, or industrial processes.

Nickel and Stainless Steel Scrap: Comes from used machinery parts, industrial equipment, or stainless-steel products.
